Our Staff

Derrick was born and raised in the city of San Antonio, Texas. He is married to Ghia Thompson and they have three children, Jonathan, Maia and Ashleigh who are actively involved in the ministry of The Ark as well. Derrick and his family moved to The Ark in 2004. He has worked in ministry in various capacities for over 20 years. He has a passion for people and teaches a message of hope centered on the Word of God. His desire is to see Christians experience the fullness of all that the Lord has for them. He enjoys playing basketball, fishing, reading a good book and spending time with his family.
